After receiving her B.A. in English from the University of Florida, Ashley tolerated a series of administrative jobs for several years before abandoning cubicle farms to try stay-at-home parenting. She home schools her children, knits, makes soap, plays the mountain dulcimer, and volunteers more than she ever expected to. Her family moved to the DeKalb area in 2012 and delights in the community.
Jack is a retired Magician living in DeKalb since 2014. He enjoys fishing, his granddaughter, is a worship associate and leads the Wiccan Study Group.
Laura Gillberg, MSW LCSW, graduated from NIU in 1993, when her love for DeKalb began. She works for Kishwaukee Health Systems/Ben Gordon as a therapist. Laura is married and has an 8 year old. In her free time, you will find her making music with the UUFD Ordinary Folk ensemble, cooking, and gardening. She is new to UUFD but has been a social justice advocate for many years, excited to share her passion for collaboration and organization.
