Religious Education Needs Assessment 2018

UUFD RE Needs Assessment, January 2018
PLEASE COMPLETE BY FEB. 28, 2018

The RE program at UUFD has gone through some significant transitions in the past year.  As church leadership begins the search for a new Director of Religious Education, we need input from the congregation on your ideas and desires for the RE program.

Currently, we have 3 levels of programming: Sprouts (0-4yrs), Rainbow Kids (5-10yrs), and Bridge Builders (11-17yrs).  The older children have a curriculum with age-appropriate lessons, but the Sprouts simply enjoy free play in a nurturing environment.  Curriculum selections are based on the Five Pillars of the Lifespan Faith Development Ministry:

  • UU Identity and History

  • Care for Mother Earth

  • Social Justice

  • World Religions

  • Spiritual Health and Practice

Programming begins at 9:45 each Sunday with our Breakfast Ministry, where the children are given healthful, low-sugar snacks with some form of protein and produce.  When the worship service starts, they separate into age groups for lessons or play.  A few times a year, there are family field trips, faith-in-action projects, fundraisers, and community potlucks.

This is what RE is.  What would you like it to be?  Please fill out the following questionnaire.
